A loud shout of joy and tears flowed freely from people's faces as FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced to the entire world that Qatar won the bid for the 2022 World Cup. Arabian Gulf people hugged one another as citizens and residents alike toasted Qatar's victory. This is a historic moment not only for Qatar but for the entire Middle East region and Arab world.
We promise you that you will see a hitorical world cup in 2022 in Arabian Gulf organized by the state of Qatar.

Established and based in London since 2005, COGIR continued to engage in research, advocacy, sensitization and direct action programs for the promotion of more understanding between Gulf people and other nations. COGIR works to serve the needs of Human rights, peace, democracy and the needs of the civil society in Arabian Gulf. COGIR promotes more understanding between Arabian Gulf people and West. COGIR is a regional network of non-government organizations (NGOs), associations, unions of activists and individuals advocate in Arabian Gulf and Europe who are committed to  protect and promote human rights, religions tolerance, peace and dialogue.
COGIR  achieves its policies and activities throughout its joint regional eight organizations.
Peace is extremely valuable and essential for the happy co-existence and healthy growth of individuals, families, and societies. History teaches us that if peace is absent for a long time, a society would face death, destruction, and even extinction. Therefore, The greeting words of Arabian Gulf people, in addition to both Arabs and Muslim are “as-salaamu alaykum” which means “peace be upon you”. Our vision is to work for all aspects of peace: the peace for dialogue, religious tolerance, more understanding between Gulf people and other nations and  finally peace for human rights.
 
 
 COGIR Woman Personality Award 2011.
Kuwait, Jan 23rd. (Kuwait)The association of Gulf Woman & Family has announced the call for nominations for the 2011 COGIR Woman Personality Award. The purpose of the prize is to acknowledge and appreciate prominent and pioneer contributions of women in Arabian Gulf.  WFA urged women and women's associations in Arabian Gulf to submit their nominations that should meet the four standards and requirements for the prize. The winner must be distinguished by her achievements and contributions as a) a mother, b) a wife, c) a community volunteer and d) as an employee either in governmental or private sectors. The deadline is 1st April 2011. Nomination should be sent to WFA via email:    wfa@cogir.org.
CARINTER welcomes peaceful Egypt transition
 Cairo, Feb 13th. Council of Arab International Relations (CARINTER), the organisation member of (COGIR) has welcomed the peaceful transition of power in Egypt, denouncing the blatant interference by foreign countries in Egypt.
(CARINTER) said today that it expresses the hope that the efforts of the Egyptian armed forces to restore peace, stability and tranquility in the Arab Republic of Egypt as a prelude to a national government to fulfill its hopes and aspirations of the  Egyptian people toward security and stability and economic prosperity.
CARINTER welcomed no-fly zone over Libya
London. March 12th. CARINTER on Saturday backed the Arab League's call for the United Nations Security Council to impose a no-fly zone over Libya, adding that the zone should be lifted once the crisis had ended. In a statement issued by the president of CARITER, Mr. Tariq Al-Shammari said "We welcome this important action by the Arab League, which strengthens the international pressure on Gaddafi and support for the Libyan people”. “We also reject any "foreign military" intervention against the Libyan people”, Al-Shammari said.

COGIR says Peninsula Shield presence in Bahrain is legitimate
Arabian Gulf. March 17th. (COGIR) today asserted the legitimate presence of the Peninsula Shield in Bahrain adding that those forces are not occupation ones but they are in line with joint security agreements signed by the GCC countries. In a press statement, Chairman of  Association of Gulf Columinsts (AGC) Sa'ad Al-Mo'atish, affirmed COGIR's commitment to Bahrain’s sovereignty and independence and the need to boost security and stability there by calling for constructive dialogue as a safe way to achieve aspirations of the Bahraini people and promote national unity. The statement hailed the royal initiative calling for dialogue to administer with all concerned sides.


COGIR Pledges to Protect Children
Manama, March 21. Secretary General of (COGIR) organisations,  Bahrain branch, Moaness Al Murdi today reiterated children’s right to live in peace and security, warning that unhealthy and unsafe atmospheres deprive them from enjoying their innocence and childhood. In a press statement, Al Murdi unveiled a joint GCC and Arab campaign aiming to take legal actions against all those who exploit children politically, economically and educationally. "If we claim that we are a civilized society that adheres to the principles of human rights, we have to respect those of youngsters and avert harming their basic rights, as they are the pillars of our society."

He also noted that the Gulf Association for Human Rights (GHR) and the Arab Association for Human Rights (HRA), two COGIR organisations, have launched a Gulf and Arab campaign themed "A Child’s Innocence Campaign" with the aim to protect children and safeguard their right not to be used by illegitimate political and economic movements, pledging that those Arab and Gulf sides who deliberately exploit young people during political and economic crises or incite them to suspend their studies and take part in demonstrations will be held accountable
.
COGIR welcomed Gulf initiative on Yemen
Kuwait. November 24th. COGIR welcomed the signing of the Gulf initiative to end the crisis in Yemen and secure a peaceful transition of power.
In a statement, Chairman of Gulf Security and Peace Forum in COGIR (GPS) Colonel (Ret) and UN Security expert Fahad Al-Shulaimi voiced hope that the agreement, signed by Yemeni leader Ali Abdullah Saleh and the opposition in Riyadh, will restore stability in Yemen.
“We look forward to a peaceful transition of power in Yemen, and hope that the deal will fulfill the aspirations of the Yemeni people and safeguard their country's unity and independence”, Al-Shulami said
He also commended the efforts of the Gulf Cooperation Council to broker the deal, highlighting the vital role the Saudi king, Abdullah Ben Abdulaziz, played to make this agreement happen

COGIR welcomes Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry recommendations
Arabian Gulf. November 27 th.
COGIR today welcomed the submission of a report by (BICI) to King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Wednesday, November 23, concerning the government's response to the protests in February and March of this year, which was simultaneously made public.
A statement by the COGIR’S Vice president, Lawyer Ali Al-Rashaidi said that COGIR appreciates King Hamad's resolve to organize a governmental working group to promptly consider the recommendations set out in the report.
“We believe that the report offers an opportunity for both, Bahraini citizens and the government to involve and participate in a healing process that will address long-standing issues and move the nation onto a path of genuine and sustained reforms”, Al-Rashidi said.

Manama.Novermber 28 th.COGIR today launched COGIR’s campaign for the Arabidentity of Bahrain
to deepen, strengthen and reinforce the issue of Arab identityof Bahrain historically, politically and intellectually across the Arab world.Dr. Ridh Abdul Wajid, Chairman of Arab association for press and free media(ARAPRESS) and on of the 25 January Egyptian revolution was nominated as a chairmanof the campaign.

Dr. Abdul Wajid asserts the importance of Arab identity of Bahrain in preserving the Arab history in Arabian Gulf emphasizing the need to confront attempts by any regional powers to affect this identity
